Information Philippe Starck :
Before designing the first Laguiole knives in the signature range for Forge de Laguiole, Philippe Starck followed in the footsteps of his father, an aeronautical engineer, in the 1950s. He enjoyed sawing, cutting, gluing and manipulating objects. Three decades later, he created the company Starck Products and became in a short time one of the most famous contemporary French designers in the world. Among the most outstanding creations of his prolific career are the renovation of the private apartments of President François Mitterrand at the Elysée Palace, the Baccarat house in Moscow, the Forge de Laguiole factory in 1987 and the first boutiques of the brand. Philippe Starck is the first designer to have been asked by Forge de Laguiole to open its "Laguiole de designer" chapter.
