WITCH FINGER COOKIES

Terrifying recipe for witch's finger cookies. Perfect for Halloween.

Serving: 12 - Prep Time: 20 minutes - Cook Time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 g (9 oz) sifted flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g (4 1/2 oz) powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 45 mL (3 tbsp.) cold water
  • 1 egg, yolk
  • 125 g (4 1/2 oz) butter, cubed
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 orange, zested
  • 12 almonds
  • 60 mL (4 tbsp.) strawberry jam

PREPARATION

  1. In the bowl of a food processor or with a whisk, mix the flour, salt, sugar, then add the water, egg, butter, zest and vanilla, until you obtain a homogeneous dough that does not stick and forms a ball.

  2. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  3. Preheat oven, rack in the middle 200°C (400°F).

  4. Cut pieces of dough into finger-sized balls.

  5. To make the nail, add 1 almond to the end of each roll.

  6. Sculpt the shape of the phalanges.

  7. On a cookie sheet, covered with a silicone mat, place the pieces of dough and bake for 10 minutes.

  8. Let cool.

  9. Dip the end that does not have the almond in the strawberry jam.
