Description
The Elevation model is inspired by Japanese prints that pay tribute to landscapes and sacred places.
The vision of these summits in a frozen moment of plenitude is translated graphically in a minimalist way, mixing fluid lines, flat colors and subtle gradients.
If we look closer, the play of colors allows to highlight the relief, but also the trees of the forest at the foot of the mountain, which reinforces its immensity.
This painting comes to sublimate the wooden handle of charm thanks to a print on the whole surface of the handle.
Technical specifications
Blade length : 8.5 cm
Sandvik 12C27M Stainless Steel: The modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content at least equal to 0.40% which allows to obtain a very satisfactory cutting edge without being sensitive to corrosion.57-58 HRC blade hardness.
Handle: The decoration of this handle is made by 3D sublimation process. This printing technique covers the entire surface of the handle, perfectly following the contours, thus giving the knife a unique character.
Safety ring : Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is used on all closing knives from N°06 onwards. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety in transport).
