Opinel - N°08 Black Palm Tree

The N°08 black palm tree is a unique knife with its anthracite finish and wood from Guyana.

Black palm tree, or patawa, is a black wood with light streaks and black leopard-like spots on the heel.

The stainless steel blade and ferrule have a matte anthracite finish. The ferrule allows the blade to be locked in an open or closed position.

Delivered in a box, the knife is available in 6,250 copies.

Technical specifications

- Blade length: 8.5 cm. Blade in Sandvik 12C27M steel with a matt anthracite finish.

- Handle: The handle is made of black palm (patawa) which is a black Guyana wood with light stripes and forming black dots at the end of the handle at the heel for an amazing leopard look.

- Safety ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is used on all closing knives from N°06 on. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc is made of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety in transport).
